The iron bridge I like

Saigon corner

Dear brothers and sisters,

This is the bridge that crosses Nhieu Loc canal, connecting District 1 and Phu Nhuan District, Saigon. Its official name is Tran Khanh Du Bridge. However, here people only call it by its nickname – the Iron Bridge, because it is made of iron.

The first time I walked on the bridge, I was so excited because I felt I was the only soul on the bridge. The bridge has 4 lanes, 2 lanes for vehicles and 2 lanes for pedestrians. The two pedestrian lanes are on both sides of the road and separate from the road for safety purposes, as you see on the picture below.

Road for walkers

The pedestrian lanes are narrow, only enough for one person. So when I walk on the bridge, I’m usually so excited that I would hop and skip. And when standing in the middle of the bridge, gazing at the sunset on Nhieu Loc canal, and feeling the cool breeze caressing my cheeks, I would be so joyful. The canal here is clean and pretty. Truly beautiful, my dears.

Sharing with you.

Have a nice day.
