The murals painted on the sealed archways of the railway viaduct on Phung Hung Street, Hanoi have been completely finished, bringing a new, lively look to the area.
19 paintings by artists from Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s from November, 2017.
The contemporary style paintings create a space that connects the city’s heritage with its artistic and community values.
Upon completion, the area will become a pedestrianised street linking to the space of Dong Xuan market, to create a new highlight among the tourist spaces in Hanoi’s Old Quarter.
The paintings evoke Hanoi’s thousand years of culture, showing a city which while facing great changes, always preserves its cultural and traditional quintessence.

With this art project, for the first time, contemporary art has been brought to street level for the community to directly engage with art honouring Hanoi’s rich heritage while enjoying the city’s public space. |
